The Band

Jessica Marti, Vocals
I’ve lived in the Oconomowoc area most of my life graduating from OHS in ???? J My husband Kerry has been my biggest fan (and critic) for the past 19 years of our marriage. He is my muse (did someone else say that?) and my best friend. Our daughter Brooklynn is a Senior at Lakeside Lutheran in Lake Mills. She is the true artist in our family, with a great ear for music. She started piano at 8 and guitar around age 10. She is currently recording her third CD of all original music and has several gigs lined up for summer.

I grew up listening to a diverse range of musicians. My parents loved Jim Reeves, Peggy Lee and Merle Haggard while my 2 older brothers were into Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin , Heart and Fleetwood Mac. My mother had formal training on the piano and has always enjoyed singing harmony, my dad’s brother played guitar and we enjoyed many bonfire sing-a-longs. As for me, I tried piano, violin and cornet and gave up all. I figured there were other people who would excel at these. And then I met Stuie….

Performing with Stuie and Friends is a blast and I am always meeting new people in the long list of his fans. Music has always been a big part of my life and it’s good to see so many others enjoying it along with us!

My grandmother bought me a 1960 Fender Jazzmaster, and Gibson amplifier (I'm not sure about the etiquette there) When I was 14. I took 2 lessons, then decided I knew how to play (and it shows). I spent the summer of 1975 in the Schiefelbein's livingroom playing along to the radio (WLPX I think), and jamming with Chris Schiefelbein and Timmy Scott, there's a good chance that we sucked. Played in many bands over the years, to many to mention. I was heavily influenced by, Richie Blackmore, Jimi Hendrix, and Jimmy Page. My lovely wife decided that she would authorize a new acoustic guitar for my 51st birthday. That's when Stuie and Friends started. It was supposed to be solo, but I soon realized that I have some talented people I've been working with over the years. So, Jessica, Chris, and Myles, make the band what it is.
